My husband and I are from Arizona, but drive out to SoCal often for diving (since we don't have much here). For a while we dove only La Jolla - the shores and the cove. The shores can be hit or miss with us - on some dives we've seen lots and others just sand. The cove is great when the conditions are good (low surge) - you can keep it a very shallow dive and see tons of fish. At night there are tons of huge lobsters. Here's a website of some of our pictures from California (not many pictures from the cove because of the surge):

Lately we've done a couple dives in Laguna Beach and really enjoyed them - conditions were a little easier with shorter surface swims and not as much surf. Here's a website of Laguna Beach dive sites:

We haven't yet added those pictures to our website ... I need to get on that

Warren,
<DIV></DIV>I'm between local dive buddies at the moment and would love to hook up. I'm pretty lazy by nature, so boat dives would be preferred, but I might be persuaded to dive off the shore if I must .
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Just getting back into the local diving, but I can think of a few decent spots. </DIV>

Great!

I'm actually wanting to do a boat dive off the Coronados...

Just starting to look and see who goes out there on the weekends.

I'd love to hit the Coronados. I'm free nearly every day for the next 5 weeks or so. I'll be out of town this Sunday through Wednesday, but after that, let's make it happen.

Excellent; I'll start poking around the charters and see who's going out. Saturday's are usually best for me.

Catch you later.

I had a very good trip with Dive Connection in San Diego. Website gottadive.com They were professional and took us to an awesome spot off the Coronados where there were about 40-50 sea lions diving with us (I think the site is called Lobster Hatch, although didnt see any lobsters!).

They were very accommodating on the schedule when we wanted to change it up a bit and gave me a military discount too!

I think Barry is the name of the guy that runs the show, I'd definitely use them again when I'm back in San Diego.

Happy Diving!
